ARE YOU GOING TO BE READY FOR THE MIDTERMS?
Voters in Antrim County will go to the polls for primaries on August 4, 2026, and Midterms on November 3, 2026.
Primary Voting Starts VERY Soon
Absentee ballots should start arriving around June 25 for the August 4 Primary.
The majority of Democrats vote using an absentee ballot.
Why?
1. It is the easiest way to vote.
2. It gives you time to do your research if there is something on the ballot you weren’t expecting (and voting the WHOLE ballot is very important).
3. State law changed and you can now bring your absentee ballot to the polls and vote it just like a ballot issued at the polls so it saves you and the poll workers time. So even if you like to vote in-person, getting on the permanent Absentee Voter list makes sense.
To become an permanent Absentee Voter, go to Michigan.gov/vote.

VICTORIA BISHOP LOSES ACCESS TO ANTRIM COUNTY VOTER ROLLS
Some people believe that barring Bishop’s access to the Qualified Voter File and thereby limiting her involvement in elections is insufficient. Antrim Dems member, Allen Wolf, sent a letter to the Governor asking her to remove Bishop completely from the Clerk job. A copy of the letter has been sent to the Antrim County Board of Commissioners. You can read Wolf’s letter on the Antrim Dems website.
A next logical step would be for the Board of Commissioners to reduce Bishop’s salary commensurate with her reduced duties.
In our June 1 newsletter, we invited you to take 9 minutes and listen to county resident remarks regarding Antrim Country Clerk Victoria Bishop who is accused o serious wrongdoing in her elected position . Please listen to the following. Our thanks to the speakers: Ashley Areeda, Allen Wolf and Kevin Wood for speaking out about the need for integrity in Antrim County government. Victoria Bishop must go! And our gratitude to Antrim County resident Lori Wood for preparing this clip.

Antrim County Dems Ad Placements
You’ve seen them in Northern Express, Antrim Review, and Elk Rapids News. These ads keep readers informed, raise important questions and remind us all that we cannot ‘look away’ from the damage being caused by Trump and his party. But we need your support to keep the ads going. Publishing the ads is not cheap. We need your help through contributions to the Antrim Dems.
Any amount helps.
As we come closer to August 4 Primary and November 3 Midterm Elections, remember that our ads will also educate voters about candidates and continue to raise awareness about the importance of voting and protecting our democracy.
Thanks for your support!

A NEWS STORY FROM
Welcome and Thank you
for being part of Leelanau Indivisible
Headlines are being made in Newark, New Jersey at GEO’s Delaney Hall Detention Center, where hunger strikes inside and attacks on protesters outside continue day after day.
Here in Baldwin, Michigan, GEO’s North Lake Prison Facility has been the site of hunger strikes and protests for months. Medical attention is denied, and inmates have died at these concentration camps across the country.
Organizing efforts for visitors to North Lake are growing. It is a complicated process and the system is set up to make it as difficult as possible for us to help; but perseverance furthers. Read on by clicking the link below for details.
Trump sued that James Comey spelling out shells as 87/46 was a call for violence?
From Joyce Vance:
Judge Rules “86 47” Flag Is Protected Speech
James Comey, former FBI director, arranged some stones/shells on a beach to spell out ’86 47’ …….”86” is slang for throw out. And 47 means the 47th president = Trump. So Trump sued James Comey for spelling that out in beach shells. But here is what the judge ruled:
A federal judge has ruled that a progressive group’s “86 47” flag can remain on display during anti-Trump protests in Washington, D.C., finding that a reasonable observer would not view it as a true threat against President Trump. The decision undercuts a key argument being advanced by the Justice Department in its criminal case against former FBI Director James Comey, who was indicted over a social media post featuring the same phrase. Judge Randolph Moss concluded that, in context, the slogan was political speech advocating Trump’s removal from office rather than a call for violence, citing First Amendment protections and the lack of evidence that the demonstrators intended to threaten the president. Comey’s trial is scheduled to begin in October.
Also from Joyce Vance:
Trump cannot put his name on the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts
“In the Kennedy Center case, Judge Christopher Cooper held that adding Trump’s name to the facility violated the clear language of federal law that requires the building to honor “President Kennedy and President Kennedy alone.” He pointed to statutory language that referred to the “John F. Kennedy Center” more than two dozen times and prohibited additional plaques or memorials honoring others to reach that conclusion. The administration has [had] until June 12 to remove Trump’s name from the building, the Center’s website, and related materials. Chalk this one up as a big win for Ohio Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, an ex officio member of the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees who brought the lawsuit, as well as for Americans who love the arts and the Constitution.”
“Never forget this: The forces undermining our democracy, rigging our economy, polluting our planet, and stoking hatred are counting on you to give up. Cynicism is how they win.”
